Welcome! I’m Anne, your resident outdoor enthusiast.
I am a mom to 2 kids, married to my good friend Dustin and am a bit of a cookie fanatic.
When I am not trying to keep my baby from terrorizing the dog I enjoy doing mountain biking, camping, skiing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and hiking. Pretty much anything outdoors and I’m there!
I have a strong belief in Jesus Christ, a deep love for my family, and my guilty pleasure is my bullet journal.
Before I had kids outdoor adventuring was a breeze!
Rock climbing in the morning, night skiing on the weekends, and camping with our horses in the summer. We didn’t have to worry about packing extra gear for the baby, making time for naps, or finding kid friendly hikes.
While I must admit I sometimes long for the days filled with carefree adventures, I have learned that adventuring in the great outdoors doesn’t have to end with parenthood.
In fact, I am a firm believer that parents, more than anyone, need a healthy dose of recreational therapy. That’s why I started Adventures After Kids.
To Make Getting Outside for parents not only doable but enjoyable!
Now I’m not gonna lie, sometimes getting outdoors with kids can be more complicated (changing poopy diapers on the hiking trail or breaking a sweat getting everyone bundled up for snow play).
To make it easier I share all my tips and tricks, adventure ideas, gear recommendations, and adventure trackers so you can get out and play! And if roughing it with the kids still feels like more than you want to tackle, I have some awesome adventure ideas for solo and couple outings as well.
