Bailey Sleigh Rides
It’s finally winter!
Calling all my local Utah readers! This post is for you! You may have noticed that Mother Nature was having a bit of a lie-in during December and January. But now that February has hit she is quickly making up for lost time. With all the glorious snow we have been getting, it seems like the ideal time to share with you one of our favorite outdoor adventures of 2021.
Bailey Sleigh Rides
I stumbled upon the idea of doing a sleigh ride last March when Madic and I were held up at home during COVID. At that time I was toying with the idea of giving Dustin a year of date nights for Christmas. As I searched for different date night ideas I came across Bailey Sleigh Rides. I didn’t end up doing that Christmas present (mostly due to a combination of COVID, knowing I would have a four-month-old baby come 2021 and because apparently, I have really expensive taste) but the idea of doing a sleigh ride this winter stuck with me.
Fast forward to January. It was the week of Madic’s birthday and we had just been hit by one of our rare snowstorms. As I was up early prepping bottles for the day I made the impromptu decision that we needed to head to Liberty to try out Bailey Sleigh Rides. Thankfully, Dustin is always up for an adventure.
Let the Adventure Begin
The conditions couldn’t have been better. The sun was shining and all the trees were frosted with snow. And aside from a couple of furry hitchhikers, we had the sleigh to ourselves.
We listened to the sleigh bells as the horses trotted through the untouched powder and enjoyed being lightly dusted with snow as we took in sweeping views of the valley. It was nothing short of magical.
If you would like to take your family to do a sleigh ride I have outlined all the need to know details below.
All the Need to Know Details
There are a couple of fun ways that you can enjoy Bailey Sleigh Rides.
Christmas Trees
Do you love having a fresh Christmas tree in your home?! Then skip the tree lot and head up to Liberty. After Thanksgiving, Bailey Sleigh Rides sells Christmas trees. You receive a FREE sleigh ride (or wagon ride if there is no snow) to go pick out your tree.
The trees range in price from $40-$120 depending on size and they have reindeer and hot chocolate. Last year they sold out quickly so you will want to go fairly soon after Thanksgiving to not miss out on this fun family activity.
Sleigh Rides
Once the snow starts flying you can schedule a time to go for a sleigh ride. The sleigh ride consists of going through the surrounging fields, enjoying the scenery, seeing their elk herd and making a pit stop at their sledding hill.
Sledding
As part of the sleigh ride you and your kids can enjoy sledding. They have sleds at the hill so no need to bring your own (unless you have a large party). Just remember to wear your snow gear.
Elk
As I mentioned above the Bailey’s raise elk. As part of the sleigh ride you will get to stop and see the herd. For some extra money you can pay to see Elk talk to Eugene (the owner).
How to Book a Sleigh Ride

I hope you will get out with your family to enjoy some of our late winter snow. It is also an awesome way to support a local, family run business. If you get a chance to go, please leave a comment. I would love to hear your thoughts! You can also use the buttons below to share this post with family and friends.
Yes, yes, yes!! Excellent right up!
It doesn’t get any better than fun, family friendly activities in the winter!
Having watched and been involved in(albeit slightly and infrequently since we live out of state) my in-laws family run business, I can honestly say that they enjoy it just as much, if not more, than their guests.
Not as many “furry hitchhikers” as in years past, but the few that are still around love to be apart of the fun!
An important note on the Christmas trees, they personally drive up to Oregon to get them every year. Where else can you get such high quality, fresh cut evergreens?!
Once you go and experience this unique adventure, you’ll want to make it a priority every year!
Thanks for mentioning that! Eugene told me about their trips up to Oregon to get trees and I totally forgot to include it. We are looking forward to going this November. Ever since we moved from Vernal I have wanted to get a live tree but it is impossible to get a permit on the Wasatch front and going to a tree lot has never appealed to me. I was super excited to hear that they sell them…so was Dustin. He hates our pitiful store bought tree.
